1/23 updates on workouts

1/23
Mile repeats at zilker.
got up this morning and met a large group at Runtex at 5:45. Ran over to the mile repeat area at Zilker park.
Lined up and did 4-5:55, 5:43,5:38, 5:50. Hurting real bad for last one. Rest of group did another. I decided to let it go.

1/22
easy 7 around lake with scott and alex.
around a 7:45 pace
miles: 7

1/21
easy 7 around lake with Elissa on bike - from house to Rtex, 4 mile loop and back home.
Around a 7:30-7:15 pace
miles: 7

1/20
21 miles marathon route: 2:43 or so around a 7:30 pace. Very wet and cold. had to stop and pee 4 times: coffee? cold?
r achilles sore and r ankle flared up.

7 miles recovery around lake
miles: 7

1/18
track workout 10X800 with 2 min rest

3:00 X 4, 2:55 X 3, 2:50, 2:45, 2:31
miles: 9

bunch of down days due to ice and general slothfulness. can't remember much about miles.

ARA 20

Well, I've been busy lately and haven't been keeping up with this blog.

Today I ran the 20 miler as a pace run for the marathon. Greg and I were a little inconsistent in the last 5K and ran a little fast, but still ended only 20 seconds fast overall to finish in 2:24:40. It was a beautiful day out there and a good test for the marathon.

I have been inconsistent lately with miles due to travel and work, but hope to get a solid 5 weeks in before the marathon.
